The movie doesn't. Horroktober Nr. 11Eine kleine Suppenküche, und dahinter eine verarmte Familie. Als ein Streit zwischen dem Vater und der Familie eskaliert, bringt die Tochter den Vater um. Um seine Leiche zu verbergen wird er kurzerhand verstückelt und in der Suppenküche mit verarbeitet. Diese „neuen“ Gerichte kommen bei den Kunden ziemlich gut an, so dass immer wieder für Nachschub gesorgt werden muss. Die Geschichte ist nicht wirklich neu, Meatgrinder oder Ebola Syndrom und Untold Story in abgewandelter Form. Es ist ziemlich makaber, mit paar guten Effekten. Darsteller sind eher Semi aber die Inszenierung geht eigentlich fit. Spannung oder Innovation sollte man allerdings nicht erwarten A Malaysian horror movie... don't hear of many of those... struggling to think of any others actually!! A film that has very similar storylines to that of other Asian meat feasts 2004's DUMPLINGS, 2009's MEAT GRINDER & 1993's THE UNTOLD STORY all of which are really good btwMrs. Chew and her 3 daughters runs a small but successful restaurant, their speciality being the curry. The curry containing a secret meat ingredient, no prizes for guessing what!The sisters go out on the prowl at night hunting for the primest supply they can find while rival restauranteurs plot to find out the secret ingredient for themselves. An almost never ending supply for the family business!This is not a film for… So a wife kills her abusive husband and some men trying to extort money from him then starts serving their flesh in her restaurant which becomes successful thanks to everyone liking the new recipes. So how is this different from the 50 other films with the same plot? Well it spends most of its run time just showing her daughters interact with men that want to fuck them over and one genuine nice guy. The characters are pretty unlikable and it's both predictable and little bleak but overall you could do much worse. What an iconic concept. The script was bad, the men in the movie were not worth eating, but the vibe 👀 👀 I want Debbie Goh to murder me [1st Viewing on 14/1/21 at Mubi]
